How do the perception and identification potential of places change when we alter them virtually? Can we tell new stories at familiar places, and how do recipients experience this? These and further questions are explored by the transfer project “Reflexive Migration Research in the Museum” in its VR experiment “Changing Places.”

The transfer project “Reflexive Migration Research in the Museum. Potentials and Perspectives of Virtual Realities” examines the extent to which the use of digital VR tools in the production of the history of migration society in Germany can shift agency towards migrantized actors and alter the perception and identification potential of history and historically charged places.
